Brief Description
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the detailed Information Bulletin for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026. Candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in Central Government Schools (like KVS, NVS) can apply online. The examination will be held on 08th February 2026 in 136 cities across the country.

Eligibility Criteria
Paper I (Primary Stage)
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) (Note: Subject to Supreme Court Guidelines).
Paper II (Elementary Stage)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed (Special Education). OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

1. What is the validity period of the CTET Certificate?
The Validity Period of the CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be for life time for all categories.
2. Is there any negative marking in CTET?
No, there is no negative marking. Each question carries one mark.
3. Can I correct my details after submission?
Yes, a one-time online correction facility will be available from 23.12.2025 to 26.12.2025. No corrections will be allowed after this date.
4. Can I apply for both papers?
Yes, a person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both Paper I and Paper II.
